Hernán Crespo, against Newcastle. 2003.

This sensational striker made his debut in 1994 for his local club, River Plate, one of the biggest in Buenos Aires. In 1996, after being noticed worldwide, he transferred to Parma for a rather large sum of money. When he moved to Lazio in 1996, he was the world's most expensive player. Crespo played with current Chelsea player Juan Sebastian Veron at both Parma and Lazio.

When Lazio began to crash, he was traded to Internazionale. They also had cash problems and Crespo was traded again and this time to Chelsea. How could any of the national teams let him go!

In Italy's Serie A, he scored for the above-mentioned Italian clubs, 108 goals in 188 matches. He was Serie A's top scorer in 2000, with 26 goals in 32 matches. However with an injury-plagued second season, he only managed 13. So all in all the total is not a bad result by any standards.

Due to family issues, Crespo was loaned to AC Milan for one season. He was the one who literally kicked Man U out of the European Champions League. He is now back with Chelsea and he is wished all the best for his second season here.
