Jules and Vincent are two black suited
hit men who work for the big, bad and feared Marsellus Wallace. They are
on a mission to find and return a mysterious briefcase, stolen from their
Along the way, they cross paths with
assorted weird and wonderful characters.
There is Butch Coolridge, a boxer who has been paid by Marsellus to
throw a fight. He reneges on the deal, and not only does he win, he
takes the money and flees with French girlfriend, Fabienne.
Vincent has an unhappy meeting with
him, when Butch returns home to collect his gold watch, which had belonged
to his father. This watch had been passed on by his great-grandfather,
from father to son, during periods of war, and Butch's father, who died
in a POW camp, gave this watch to Captain Koons who was with him when
he died. He wanted it passed on to his own son.
Another disastrous incident occurs, when Vincent is asked by Marsellus
to escort and entertain his wife, Mia Wallace for the night, while he
is away. They have a meal at the restaurant Jack Rabbit Slim's, winning
the dance competition.
Mia: "I do believe Marsellus Wallace, my husband, your boss, told you
to take ME out and do WHATEVER I WANTED. I wanna dance, I wanna win.
I want that trophy, so dance good."
Unfortunately the night turns out to be a another drama in the film,
with scenes including Lance, Vincent's drug dealer, and Roseanna, his
multi-pierced wife. These scenes show the sensational dark humour, prevalent
throughout this totally captivating film, where one should cry but instead
you find yourself laughing.
